Another reason to visit ChessGames.com

Need a reason to visit ChessGames.com? Personally, their chess games database alone is more then enough reason for me to visit. But if you're the kind of person that is looking for some fun on the side, maybe their betting game will do the trick for you. You get to predict real-world professional chess events and bet on them using "chessbucks". If you register for an account (you can register for free as well), you'll receive a 1000 chessbucks to get you started. If you can pick the winners, your chessbucks account will grow and grow. If you're really good, you'll see your name in lights on our Leaderboard, for others to admire. And if you're the best of the best, you will be immortalized in our Hall of Fame (okay, so i coppied some of the explanatory text from ChessGames.com). I am currently ranked #377 (handle is 'Edwin Meyer') -870 chessbucks and into the loanshark for 1,180 :-(

This sounds like great fun. I'll have a look.
I guess we can bet on the results at the Chess Olympiad that started yesterday. Let's see how The Netherlands perform this time.

Yes! You can also bet on the Olympiad. And yes! It is great fun. Atleast i like to think it is :-)

Though i am not doing very well at the moment. My biggest score was around a 1000 chessbucks on a single bet. I do like to bet big time though... I am not into betting 1 chessbuck at a time.

I also lost allready all my "money". So I've taken my first loan. Now I remember why I never go to a casino. ;-)

Hahaha! Well, i am almost ranked last, so you can't do much worse then me :-(
What's your handle there?

My handle there is Pepino.
I haven't been very active yet kibitzing games but maybe I will soon.

Ok :-)

Well, i haven't kibitzed that much either. Atleast not compared to some... I get the feeling some rather kibitz about chess instead of playing chess :-)
And they all seem to know better then the last guy too... There are some NM, FM, IM, GM members which make it interesting... Anyway, today i cashed in about a 1000 chessbucks from a Dutch win over Ukraine. I am betting they be kicking China butt as well :-)
