I like it a lot. Sure, it has it's flaws, but what program is perfect? I especially like the fact that they integrated strategy and endgame in it. To be trained exactly the same way. I do have to admitt that (at times) can get frustrated by the fact that it does not say what the tactic is about. All it tells you is to look for the best move. On the other hand, in a real chess game, there is also nobody telling you what tactic to look for, if you understand what i am trying to say. But what makes it confusing is that 9 out of 10 times, it is all about mate. Mate in 1, mate in 2, mate in 3, etc. So you automatically start looking for chances to mate while ignoring other possibilities. Cause sometimes, out of the blue, it just presents you with a problem that wins material. Atleast up untill now that is. And because you're so focussed on mate problems, you start looking for a chance to mate with those problems too... This is getting too confusing :-)
Anyway, i like it, yes. It's also my goal to finish it. I hope you will like it too, if you intend on using it.

Now that you are pretty far into it, how do you like the PCT program? I have a copy and it seems pretty sweet.

It will be interesting to hear if it shifts away from mate problems to more material-based problems.
Knowing how to mate is pretty important, so that wouldn't deter me :)
I'll make sure to let you know.
